Peggy Abood is Deputy Counsel of the Patrick Law Group Chicago office, and has over 17 years of experience as a corporate and commercial contracting attorney. Ms. Abood has extensive experience advising business leadership on legal and financial risks, creating collaborative relationships within the organization and across the table, and facilitating successful conclusions to difficult negotiations through managing and negotiating a broad range of commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating technology contracts for clients of various sizes. Ms. Abood’s practice focuses on technology transactions including outsourcing, consulting services, software licensing and maintenance agreements, staff augmentation as well as other technology services agreements. Ms. Abood also supports drafting and negotiating a wide variety of vendor, supplier, reseller, wholesale and independent contractor agreements as well as helping the Firm’s clients optimize their internal legal function through analysis, strategic planning, and execution.
Ms. Abood’s 14 years of experience in global in‑house legal departments supporting a vast array of issues from basic sales support at domestic subsidiaries to complex multi‑million dollar global M&A post-merger integrations allows her to focus on the most pressing issues in order to provide timely business relevant legal advice.
Prior to joining Patrick Law Group, she was Director of Legal Services at Accenture LLP. Among her many roles at Accenture, Ms. Abood created the first global post-merger integration function in the Legal group; provided comprehensive legal support to several Accenture subsidiaries including oversight and management of all client and vendor agreements, disputes, employee issues, regulatory and compliance and served as a trusted advisor to business leadership working with globally located teams. Ms. Abood began her in‑house career at Verizon (formerly MCI WorldCom Communications, Inc.) providing transactional support to a range of global clients and managing the legal implementation of the company’s largest transaction at the time (a 50 country comprehensive IT outsourcing engagement). Ms. Abood worked closely with sales teams and created strong relationships with clients facilitating positive long‑term relationships for the company with Verizon’s largest enterprise clients. Prior to joining Verizon, Ms. Abood was a Vice President at Bank of America in the Estates and Trusts division, supporting a unique group focused on private bank trust administration and portfolio management of high net worth individuals and their families.
Ms. Abood is an active volunteer with her alma mater, Saint Mary’s College, serving on a variety of advisory boards, an active volunteer with Holy Name Cathedral/Catholic Charities and also serves on the board of the Harbor Springs, MI Festival of the Book.
